X Factor front man and record executive Simon Cowell officially announced yesterday that his company Syco Entertainment will be working alongside Sony Pictures Television and Will and Jada Smith’s entertainment company Overbrook to produce a reality tv talent competition. This is not another X Factor type show featuring wannabe recording artists, filtering through many to find the next number one singer, this talent show has a slight twist. The proposed competition is to discover the world’s next big DJ. In an statement released by Mr Cowell, he said:

“We have been working on this show for over a year, and we wanted to partner with the right people. As soon as I met Jada and Miguel [Jada Smith business partner] from Overbrook, I knew they would be our ideal partners. DJs are the new rock stars; it feels like the right time to make this show.”

2This show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent,” Pinkett-Smith added. “I am happy to be creating it alongside Simon Cowell, the Sony team, and my partner Miguel Melendez, on behalf of the Overbrook family.”

At the moment, details of when the competition will be broadcasted have not been disclosed but the good news is that we know that the competition will be viewed from either side of the pond.

According to Billboard, Syco Entertainment confirmed:“Syco, Overbrook, and Sony Pictures Television will be unveiling their U.S. and U.K. broadcast partners for the project soon.
